A little about me...
Some passions are participatory and some otherwise. I love cycling everyday. I have become a travel addict - this past summer: Italy (and a cruise), Florida, and a week in a Maine resort. I am absolutely drawn to the southwest and can't go a few years without going back - this summer, Costa Rica. I teach 6th grade and love it, although education is sadly changing. I coach a girls varsity tennis team, which leads into another passion: tennis. I go to at least 8 days of the US Open each year - the feeling & vibes of the event are so positive and uplifting. I am a semi-pro photographer. I love theater for the power I get from great acting (although I haven't gone much this year). Those rare spells of melancholy and self-pity are quickly replaced by the anticipation of enjoying what's ahead in the future. I must say, many have said I am as real and genuine as they come. The recent birth of a grandson has surprised me in the effect it has had on my view of things...
About the one I'm looking for...
Eh, this is a set-up question. Who the heck knows?? Once you pin down these characteristics, you see someone you like that fulfills absolutely non of the criteria! So, who knows? Well, intelligence is a prerequisite, as well as being very attractive. One has to make me say, "wow". I can't connect to a bland person, and like someone who doesn't slip into a "mold". It's just so hard to define: someone with that spark in their eyes, someone whose look tells you there's so much there...someone slightly (or heavily) flirty...someone who is NOT afraid of being feminine. But I surely miss sharing the experience of travel and newness with someone and would love to me someone truly genuine.
I'd just like to add...
So this section is supposed to be at least 300 characters, I see. Well, I think of HONESTY, and, as a precursor to that, openness. ...Sincerity and acceptance...I can smell pretense a mile away and will run from it. I am so excited by the prospect of retirement and all that I'll enjoy, that I find myself having to focus on the moment and avoid thinking of all the travel in my future! It's amazing how one of the many gifts of living longer is the wisdom and clarity it imparts...and how it clears up your priorities. I'm sure those reading surely understand this! Who said, "Moderation is for monks, live life in big chunks.."? Heinlein?
