A little about me...
Fun, energetic, trip-taking, bicycle-riding, music-listening/playing/dancing, kayak-paddling, dining-out,
movie-going 58-year-old guy seeks woman with similar interests to be friends first, and more if that all-elusive chemistry is right. I am mostly retired, operating an online collectibles business when the muse strikes. I should emphasize that I’m a bit of an acquired taste. While I consider myself a fun and interesting person to be around, I am rarely described as the “life of the party,” in that coked-up disc jockey sort of way that some people find charming and amusing. My sense of humor leans more toward the dry, irreverent, even slightly wicked kind that takes a while to develop as I discover what makes you laugh. So if I don’t knock it out of the park on our first meet, give it a little time. And here’s why: I’ve got it in spades where it counts … I’m loyal, I’ll watch your back, I won’t intentionally hurt you, and I’ll say I’m sorry when I mess up. I will revel in your happiness, and hold you when you are sad, and I give great hugs and backrubs. These are the ingredients of real love, and they take time to reveal themselves, which I think we lose sight of in this hurry-up, point-and-click, gotta-have-it-now world.
About the one I'm looking for...
I enjoy doing most of the things people list in these write-ups. But I’m just as interested – if not more so – in meeting a woman with a kind heart, who knows the difference between being “correct” and being “right,” and who doesn’t take herself too seriously. You are incurably curious, and you haven’t let life’s misfortunes crush your spirit or sense of wonder. You are equally happy parasailing 200 feet over the ocean on a Caribbean beach, or playing a game of Scrabble over a glass of favorite wine. While I don’t expect you to be at my beck and call, your schedule should be sufficiently loose to allow for some spontaneity. I am given to sudden urges to take road trips, sometimes with no particular destination in mind, other times in search of good pie. (Favorite fruit pie: cherry. Favorite cream pie: banana.) You should be sophisticated enough to know that Red Lobster doesn’t really have good seafood, but not so uptight that you wouldn’t watch “Airplane” with me on an evening when I’m craving a good belly laugh. And don’t call me Shirley. (Extra points if you get that).
I'd just like to add...
Life is better, and certainly more civilized, when shared. I’m tired of the crappy single person’s table at the restaurants (you know, the wobbly two-top by the kitchen or the restroom). Tired of paying the single person’s penalty on cruises and vacations. All the good food in my fridge that I love to cook for a woman – the steaks, the scallops,
the shrimp – is now replaced by frozen meatballs, hot dogs, and deli meat. All the good wine and craft beers have now turned into the occasional six-pack of Bud. (Cooking/dining for one sucks, I don’t care what anyone says!) If any of this resonates with you, please send me a message and rescue me from all of this! Full disclosure: I currently spend six months of the year in Florida and six in Wisconsin. Yes, I am a snowbird, which I know is a deal breaker for many of you, and that’s a pity. Do you really have so many friends that you couldn’t stand to have another? And if we turn out to
be the “one” for each other, we'll find a way to make it work. Trust me, it's been done a million times over! Real replies require real messages. I don't reply to flirts (does this
actually work for anyone?!?!). If I’m not your particular cup of tea, best of luck in finding your special someone!

My Top Interests:
Love new adventures. Enjoy cruising. Big trips, or weekend getaways, it doesn't matter.
I enjoy many type of music, and also play the piano (pops, standards, etc.) Though not classically trained, I have a good time with it.
Enjoy new restaurants and also have my "old standby's." I would say I'm a foodie, but not a food snob. I enjoy a good chili dog, or dinner at four-star restaurant.
