A little about me...
An unrepentant Boomer but conservative, nonetheless, “ I would rather burn out than rust out”. And you? Being active in a social setting …particularly with friends adds to the bouquet of life. Gardening, cooking and just about anything historical excite me….. as well as a good cup of “Joe” on the deck with the Sunday morning paper and the faint chords of Strauss playing in the background are totally relaxing.
Some of my beliefs include …. all life is a blessing and should be enjoyed and is most fulfilling when shared. Also we harvest the seeds we sow … but always later & more abundantly than the planting …. So why not plant many good seeds? Life is too short for negative people & situations which I strive to avoid. What are some of your beliefs?
Although with a high energy level, I also enjoy the embrace of a good book (which will not release me -but more preferably warm inviting arms), good conversation with friends, a glass of wine and also quiet unspoken moments with that special someone.
We can discuss my creative inclinations when we talk.
With the right person I could develop a severe case of Wanderlust.
About the one I'm looking for...
What brings you joy? Hopefully your most treasured wealth is your family, as is mine.
Are you well planned but also sufficiently flexible to embrace an occasional spur of the moment change in plans? What are your thoughts on weekend road trips or longer stays … and where? ………….Ooops, there goes that wanderlust thing again.
Can you feel comfortable and equally at ease with me in a formal setting or in flip flops and tank tops? What are your passions? Do you enjoy social events, sports …. some active, skiing, kayaking or cycling? … some passive . hockey and college football (Go Bucks).
What gets your creative juices flowing? Are you feminine, intelligent & strong? I hope so. What of your musical bent? Mine includes country, blues, rock, classical, easy listening but Not cacophonous jazz or most rap.
Do you have joy in your heart and smile easily? Can you enjoy humor in the ridiculous . over things which we sometimes have little control … and can we still laugh at them? Having a quick wit is appreciated but without the necessity of sarcasm & hurtfulness. Again, isn’t life too short for “crap”, drama and pettiness? Not a Pollyanna ... trite but true ... but aren't laughter & love the best medicines?
I'd just like to add...
Although still working ... my avocation is also my vocation – Real Estate Investing etc. I do enjoy “the game”. Are you still working, retired or somewhere in between?
I have to admit to an Achilles heal – technology, is not my forte, mea culpa, mea culpa.
A transplanted Yankee, now a Virginian, I have lived in Va. Beach, for the past 30 years. Get back if we share connections and if you are not a million miles away. (Been there, done that. Eventually it did not work.)
I am active, (skiing, swimming in the ocean et. al.) but am not looking to compete with you ... just looking to compliment your plethora of talents, skills, inner beauty & warmth. Can you be the Ying for my Yang? .... and share good conversation with friends and also our quiet unspoken moments? For me, this type of partnership ...subordinate to the Almighty is the essence of life. Agree?
I'm a giver. What brings me joy is to be able to do things for someone ... my equal ... my life partner. May I bring you coffee and the paper in the morning?
