A little about me...
I enjoy my retirement very much. I really have never been bored. There is always something to see, hear, taste, touch, or even imagine. I find it hard to complete the things I want to do each day, so there is always something awaiting me tomorrow. For example, not too long ago I got up long before dawn just to view the meteor showers that are sometimes visible at this time of the year.
About the one I'm looking for...
Conversation and consideration go a long way for me, and physical fitness is a high priority. An interest in reading and the fine arts would be appreciated. A moderate, yet independent, view of politics seems reasonable in these times. If your politics are uncompromising, I am probably not for you. The same goes for religion. I don't have all the answers and if you do for sure, I am not one you would care for. Too many wars have already been fought over these two issues already.
I'd just like to add...
I admire a person who is independent psychologically and financially. I see this as the time to enjoy the goals we have completed and those still left to complete with or without another person. Preferably with another now that I think about it. If you nodded in agreement with most of what I have said, I would like to hear from you.

My Top Interests:
I exercise, hiking and swimming competitively and enjoy both socially. For me, this has become a way of life. I prefer individual participation in sports more than watching team sports on TV, etc.
All fine arts are important and should be more widely appreciated. When possible, I'll enjoy them live. Hearing The Phoenix Chorale is a pleasure, and our Phoenix Symphony is wonderful as well. Any fine arts on PBS are always a strong second choice. Recently I have been reading more non-fiction than fiction. However, poetry remains high on my value list.
Finally, we are fortunate to have KBAQ Radio here which helps me remember what is important in this world.
Oftentimes a film is great to view following a work one has read, but not always. I usually give it a chance for better or worse. Historically based films get my attention as well. Of course all of these options can be enhanced with fine wine, well prepared food and meaningful conversation afterwords.
