A little about me...
I am passionate about living my life in possibility. One of my favorite books is the "Art of Possibility" by Rosamund and Benjamin Zander, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. This book captures my philosophy towards life.
I have been described by my friends as being positive, happy, energetic, loyal, adventurous, and courageous. I am also a classic Myers Briggs introvert.
My previous job in international human rights has created an appreciation for different cultures and the importance in making a difference in the world. I taught a class to Burmese refugees in Thailand which I found to be most rewarding.
I am dedicated to the values of Unitarian Universalism which embraces all faiths and beliefs. I have enjoyed a career in nursing, health care management and international human rights.
About the one I'm looking for...
I am looking for someone who enjoys a similar sense of adventure and love of life, values integrity, and has a social conscience with compassion for others. I am looking for a partner to co-create a life partnership, new adventures and who want to share lifes simple pleasures and our mutual passions.
I'd just like to add...
I have many interests and find it hard to find the time to do everything I would like to do. Most of all, I enjoy new experiences!
I love to travel, being in different cultures and environments. I would love to sail the islands of the Caribbean and explore Italy, Greece and Australia. Southeast Asia is very intriguing to me.
I enjoy most outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, jogging, biking, sailing, kayaking, etc. I love the ocean, national parks and the coast of Maine.
Live theater, musicals, movies, music and dance are on the top of my list in the art and culture arena. I love ballroom dancing and participated in showcases and competitions for amateurs. I have sailed in the Caribbean, off the coast of Maine and in Marblehead, MA.
I love to rise to a challenge. I decided to run a marathon when I was turning 50 and successfully completed by first marathon in London in 1999. I have now run a total of 12 marathons. My most recent marathon was the 2011 Boston Marathon. I am now exploring other adventures such as going up in a hot air balloon or sky diving.
I greatly enjoy my family, spending time with them and creating new experiences for my grandchildren.
As the song goes, these are just a few of my favorite things!
