A little about me...
I'm a retired social worker, now in Kansas City after living in Nebraska most of my life. Family is extremely important to me, my older son and his wife live nearby. We lost my younger son and his brother almost four years ago but he gave us two beautiful grandchildren and one step-granddaughter. He was a single Daddy and the little ones currently live in Nashville. Our hope is that they eventually will join us in Kansas City so we can all be together.
I enjoy antique shows, flea markets, am a genealogist, have numerous collections, I love being outdoors and love exploring the area & state. I am fiercely loyal and need a partner who is honest and respectful. I am very affectionate, touchy-feely, have and continue to want to explore all aspects of sexuality. Intimacy is very important to me.
Apparently I am not saying the right things about who I am, what I am, etc. Friends are always telling me that I look at least 10+ years younger than my actual age... and I know I am much younger in spirit!
I enjoy life, I am a good conversationalist, Recently I was involved with one man for 6 years, but we all know things can happen! I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge about most things, and am currently involved in some study gro
About the one I'm looking for...
I am looking for a long term relationship but am open to a solid friendship, perhaps with benefits! I was married for 15 years and have been divorced for over 30, so I have become rather independent and still need my "space." It is important to me that the man I am with be intellectually curious about lots of things, keep up on the happenings around us, and be open to other's opinions ... even when they are not the same.
I'd just like to add...
I am fascinated with the many restaurants in KC and am still learning about the benefits of the city ... there is always something to do. I love spending an evening (or all day) just relaxing with my partner, talking, sharing a cup of coffee, watching tv ... whatever the mood calls for.
I enjoy classical music, NPR, the folk music of the 50's & 60's, "real" country music and the wonderful Irish music of my heritage.
. I dream of going to Ireland, but don't particularly like to fly! Guess I will endure the trip if I get the opportunity. I especially like day trips or 2-3 days away, either sight-seeing or visiting family.
I love all things Irish and, even at my age, am kind of a sucker for collecting as many green things as I can!
I am at a place in my life where I enjoy just about everything and everyone! I feel that I am a peace-filled woman, open to the world around me. Even though I often felt like a "victim" I have learned that I am a survivor ... and it feels good. I know who I am, I like who I am, and I am not done living and experiencing life. There is so much more to see and be ... one has to be able to find it and making new friends, creating new relationships, and smiling a lot is where it is found.
