A little about me...
I enjoy many different kinds of writing. I also love a healthy lifestyle, films, books, smart guys, contemplative walks, alternative medicine, yoga, Pilates, meditation, art museums, the symphony, lectures, stimulating conversation, my cat, French roast coffee, dark chocolate, good food and nice wine. (Despite my affinity for those last three items, I wear a size 6.) I try to be a compassionate person, as well as a good listener. I have opinions, but I have no need to browbeat others into sharing my views. I experience the world through a spiritual lens and find metaphysics interesting, but I left religious dogma behind a long time ago. My tastes are eclectic, really. I dislike drama, except for that found in books, movies or on the stage, but I love comedy, unless it's overtly sarcastic or inflicts pain.
About the one I'm looking for...
I like caring, considerate, thoughtful, intelligent, ethical, educated, health-conscious, creative, nice-looking men who can carry on a lively conversation. Spending time together is great; so is spending time apart, so a man who understands that and is OK with it would be nice. A man who respects me and my ideas, as well as himself and his own, would be fabulous, and if he could curb his urge to give me unsolicited advice or do my thinking for me, that would be heaven. Funny is very important; in fact, it's mandatory. So is fitness, but not to the point of fanaticism. My point: I'm attracted to men who take care of themselves.
I'd just like to add...
It's probably important to mention aversions, as in absolutely, positively, non-negotiable turn-offs. In my case, they include drugs, smoking, hunting/guns, motorcycles and any sort of criminal past. I should add that, while I'm also not into macho or athletic forms of entertainment like football or NASCAR or horseback riding, nor am I a skier or boat person, I'd certainly understand if a man enjoyed any or all of these things, as long as he didn't constantly badger me to participate. I do know how to compromise, though. Which means: Forget my showing up for NASCAR races or football games, but count me in to lie on the beach while he's off on a boat, deep-sea fishing or sip cocoa in the ski lodge while he's off on the intermediate slope. And someday, I'd love to go to the Kentucky Derby (I watch it every spring).
