A little about me...
Independent, grounded, articulate and playful. Loyal, helpful, empathetic, conscientious, hard worker. One of my instructors called me an over-achiever - as if there was something wrong with that. Recently retired from my full time profession, and going to college part time. A work in progress, as I'm always seeking information. Love meeting new people, enjoy healthy relationships. I am not a possession, and cannot be possessed. Worked ten years as an Investigator, so my inquisitiveness comes naturally now. I really dislike Camping and long exposure to the outdoors, so campers and outdoorsmen beware - I am a city girl, and nobody's going to change that.
About the one I'm looking for...
I am in search of a man who is chivalrous and opens doors for me naturally, thoughtful, considerate, romantic. Intelligent, articulate and completely transparent. He doesn't walk ahead of me, but grabs my hand and walks WITH me. I don't smoke, and really find it distasteful to be around. Addiction of any kind is a sign of weakness, and I'm not interested in playing that game or even watching it. I have learned many of life's lessons well. My preference is to find out the full story up front and then deal with it instead of being deceived and having the story unravel as I'm pursuing the truth - and I WILL find the truth. I would prefer an educated man, and law enforcement/military or legal background is particularly of interest to me since that is my background (Paralegal and Criminal Justice Student) I am a fan of holistic medicine, and keep an open mind when it comes to health issues. Life is short, and I am not interested in a moody man or drama - my personality is pretty neutral and I expect the same of a partner. My tastes in the last 10 years have leaned me towards younger men because of their excitement for life - you are only as old as you act, which puts me at about 40. Can you keep up with me?
I'd just like to add...
I've been a professional Social dancer over 20 years, as well as working full time and part time jobs simultaneously. My faves: movies, plays, eating (I'm being honest), or meeting with friends. Dance Conventions, amusement parks, water parks, concerts, etc.. I love finding new attractions. I am not broken, so I don't need to be fixed, and anticipate the same from a partner. I am sensitive to addiction issues. Fortunately, I chose NOT to be addicted to anything. Timeliness is important to me. I think one of the ingredients for a successful relationship is not to blame, and not having to be right all the time. Two people cannot possibly agree on everything, so there has to be equal amounts of give and take. We all come with certain amounts of "baggage", nobody is perfect, and it seems that the older we get, the more "baggage" we accumulate - and the longer our lists become of "must haves and don't likes." That concerns me ........and so I vacillate between a sigh of regret that nobody could ever measure up - through a thought of hopefulness in the possibility that anything is possible. One thing is certain with me, I am not a desperate woman and I move forward with much trepidation. Patience, please?
