A little about me...
I recently lost my wife of 45 years to cancer leaving me lonely in a big house with only my cat to keep me company. He is my constant companion including at bedtime but a poor substitute for a real partner. My own hobbies are ham radio and model railroading. The following will sound like rambling on about my wife but just stated to show my lifestyle. In the early evening I often was in my basement workshop tinkering with a project. In mid evening I would go upstairs to join my wife to watch some TV shows. She might do some crossword puzzle and I would check the Internet for electronic treasures. While we might do different things in front of the TV it was always pleasant together time until retiring. We would share going to flea markets, day trips to Lancaster, New Hope, walks along the Wissickon etc and occasional multi-day bus trips. While I would prefer going to the mountains we would spend a couple days at the shore that she enjoyed so much. We would sit on the beach, usually in the shade under the Ocean City fishing pier, she reading a mystery novel and I electronic magazines. While I would like to continue such activities with a new partner, I would expect to modify the plans to suit a new partner.
About the one I'm looking for...
I am looking for a true partner. That means to share in everything, good times, coping with problems, enjoying each other’s success and comforting in times of problems. There should be times of doing things together while enjoying each others company, and times to allow your partner to pursue his/her own interests since two people will never have exactly the same interests. When two people come together later in life they both bring with them a lifetime of experience that affects how they feel about things in how the household is run to political issues. Each will have to try to understand the other's feelings and sometimes learn to compromise when those things are totally opposite. There is bound to be times when each person will remember their previous partner and compare their new partner to them and must make an effort to not let that get in the way of enjoying a new relationship. If I am fortunate enough to find another soul mate I hope that we can both feel passionate about each other and be happy that we have received a second chance at love and happiness. I am not good at expressing myself in these matters on an open forum so all these things need to be openly discussed when forming a new relationship.
I'd just like to add...
I would much prefer if I could meet someone in at a gathering, but the bar scene isn’t for me. They usually have loud music and have the young crowd that doesn’t satisfy my desire to meet someone of my age group and interest. My wish is to make an initial contact via computer, which covers basic ideas using both person’s profiles, and then move right on to a personal meeting. That way a lot of time isn’t wasted exchanging multiple emails only to find it isn’t going to work out as soon as there is a personal meeting. Also, I have no desire to carry on a long distance relationship. I hope to meet someone within 40 miles, preferably less, so that if the initial personal contact shows promise of a developing relationship, then frequent meetings to develop the relationship can happen without having to spend a lot of time driving back and forth. I apologize if this sounds like a legal requirement document but I have become stressed trying to put the right feeling on paper, and hope to move on to meet the right person as soon as possible. I have done my best to put the right things in this profile. If I haven’t covered something, please feel free to ask ANY questions.
