A little about me...
born in rural NY, high-school jock, drafted in the army between second and third year in college. One kid in NYC, one in CT with two cats and a dog -- my current 'grand-dog'. Is that what you want to know?
I love music although challenged when making it I used to go to lots of concerts. An outdoor concert and a picnic dinner with the right person would be delightful..
As a biologist/botanist i follow the seasons with joy. i love animals - and usually they like me. I think that says something (good) about me.
I am an introvert who plays an extrovert - but i don't like it. I am basically cautious and reserved - life of the party NOT. I'd rather focus on a few than flock to the biggest and noisiest group.
My TV is seldom used (except for 'Dr. Who'), but the internet is always on, and i devour both eBooks and real books - cooking books, novels, computing/business books, and some poetry. I must confess that typos, and bad copy editing drive me nuts.
I do volunteer work (lawn mowing, assisting in friday night dinner for the less fortunate, et al, am always willing to make coffee and bake for organizations, and truly enjoy it when i can take care of or help others.
Is that more helpful?
About the one I'm looking for...
Who am i looking for? Someone i just can't help but smile at and when she smiles at me, it is a complement that i can happily accept. I am strongly attached to high-spirited, outgoing women, but have had better luck (what does luck have to do with it?) with calm women who have 'quiet water' around them.
I am very and deeply emotional, but it is all safely constrained way down inside me. I am not joyless, but i am cautious and I wish to find someone whose gentleness and character would make sharing those deep feelings with her safe and who would see my attempts to respond to her as proof her trust and honesty is being mutually shared.
I'd just like to add...
Physical attraction is important (chemistry) but some of the most attractive woman I have known are not "classical beauties." WHO you are and what WE can become together is by far more important.

My Top Interests:
Music moves me - sometimes to tears, and sometimes to laughter, but always to joy. From the Ron Carter trio to Diana Krall to Dave and Tracy Carter (no relation to Ron) to the BSO in full, furious flight, it's all good. However, live music is best. OK, ok, Grateful Dead is also best.
I like to eat so I like to cook. I'm a decent cook and a better baker. What I really seek is something that makes me say "WOW - I would not have thought that would work!"
Wine Tasting and Spirits
I like beer and wine. Too much - I go to AA. That doesn't and shouldn't affect YOUR drinking, but it is something we will need to talk about. Or maybe not if this stops our potential dialog.
