Greeting

A little about me...
I am a loving, fun, adventurous, well-educated, well-traveled, and intelligent optimist. Nothing is more important than sharing the world with the people I love. I believe in living each day to the fullest, learning, exploring, and my interests are in current events, history, the environment, science, and the Arts. I like indoor & outdoor activities like bicycling, hiking, etc., and reading in front of a fire. I'm committed to leaving the world a better place. For example,I support two missions that provide medical care for those less fortunate than I am. For fun, I enjoy photography, music, travel, art ( I am a painter), film, and serving others. I believe that human beings have much in common and I love learning about the world views of others. I have lived and worked in other countries and my sense of "home" comes from being connected to friends and family rather than to one physical place. I am open & accepting of a broad range of religious views. I believe that if you work hard almost anything is possible. I love to improve myself and build a sense of home. I improve my fitness by jogging 1 mile in a pool most days, taking college classes and I am starting a new business. I also work in a state agency.

About the one I'm looking for...
I am hoping to make new friends and, if I am lucky, find a special partner to share my enthusiasm and the rest of my life. I hope he will share some of my interests and values. I am not interested in casual sex. I want to base my relationships on friendship built on trust, respect and shared values. I hope to meet a soul mate who will have strengths I don't have but will also appreciate the strengths I do have.
I think my special partner would be intelligent, humorous, open to others and a strong sense of self. He would enjoy new experiences, be self confident, and family oriented. He would be intelligent, loyal, demonstrate good decision making, be able to make comittments, ambitious, and he would be educated, qualities that we share. He would be a little like me. I am the "girl next door", he would be the "boy next door. We would be reliable and honest with each other, and we would communicate well. He would have maintained a stable home life but also be interested in seeing the world, and sharing his adventures with me. He would not be frightened by my intelligence and spirit. We would be close but yet we would help each other pursue our own individual interests and dreams. If he has a family, I would enjoy sharing it.

I'd just like to add...
Character is the most important thing to me in my choice of friends. I am less concerned about regional location as well. In fact, my partner's character, as demonstrated by the way he has lived and the right emotional connection is more attractive to me than looks. I am not attracted to whiners, the addicted, those who are seriously indebted, anti-social people who view themselves as victims, or those who have no interests of their own. I think the core qualities that make a great relationship are 1. similar values, 2. supportive interests, 3. comittment to family & friends, 4. ability to see beyond the small weaknesses that each of us have, 5. the ability to listen and communicate, 6. honesty and follow-through, 7. fun and openness, 8. a happy spirit, and endurance for the hard times which happen to all of us. If you are out there I would love to have a chance to get to know you, your family, and your friends.
