A little about me...
I am a happy, healthy, independent woman and can find humor in almost anything. I'm relatively laid back, easy going, not too much frazzles me.
I have been divorced for 20 years. For the last seven years my priority has been raising my grandson who is now in high school and isn't totally dependent on my anymore. I feel like I am in a good place personally, spiritually and professionally and would like to find someone to share good times.
When I look back over my life and all the challenges and hurdles that I have overcome it feels like looking at someone else's life. My life has been an extraordinary leap of faith that I could endure and overcome everything that has been put in my path. I'm confident that my struggles have made me a stronger and wiser person with a keen sense of intuition. I would say that my biggest flaw is that I am an observer long before I open up and share my story. I am cautious about trusting someone with my heart. I don't jump into relationships or friendships...I prefer to ease into them.
The past is history that cannot be changed so I choose to live totally in the present and make the best that I can of each day. I think I am happier these days than I have been in perhaps my whole life.
About the one I'm looking for...
I'd love to find a nonsmoking someone with a great sense of humor to pal around with. I enjoy a lot of different activities and it doesn't matter what the activity is as long as you are sharing it with someone you like.
I'd like that person to have a keen sense of intellect and an interest in the world and what's happening outside of my/their front door and be able to carry on a conversation about news events as they unfold.
You don't have to have read War and Peace to capure my attention, but at least read the headlines once in a while. :)
I'd just like to add...
I enjoy reading books that are action/adventure or drama. I tend to enjoy tv programs that stimulate thought. Currently my favorite tv program is Criminal Minds. IMO, some of the plots I wouldn't have thought up in a million years. I enjoy many of the PBS programs and The Good Wife is also one of my favorites.
I love horses, dogs and cats and currently have a 2 Yorkies, one is pretty mellow and the other pretty high octane. I enjoy nature and walking in the woods, along streams and just taking in the beauty. I like gardening early in the spring but I sort of lose interest by July and my yard starts taking on a sad, unkempt look until I force myself to tackle it. I'm considering hiring someone else to do the maintenance this year so that I can do the fun stuff, like planting.
