A little about me...
I'm a pretty happy guy, haven't had a bad day since February do 2006. :) No kidding, I never have a bad day. I've found, as I get older, that there is little worth really getting angry about. I lost my wife some14 years ago (THAT was a very bad day) and it took me along long time to come to terms with that. At the end of the day, I've learned to relish the life we had and revel in the part of that life that still exists.
I have a great son and remarkable daughter-in-law. As of last August I have my first grandson. What a treat!
Like most of us I enjoy working in my yard and on the house. I build the occasional piece of furniture and do a little wood turning. Turning is very cathartic as it provides such instant results. Very satisfying. It's much like writing software which is what I did for a living. It was great fun because the feedback was so nice. In the 'old days', when I first wrote, we were making it up as we went along. It was an amazing time to work in that field!
I'm also a bit addicted to golf!
Im 64, it's been a nice life. Looking back I can only think of a single thing I regret, and its a big regret. We won't be talking about it. I have learned, though that I can't change the past. I can only do better.
About the one I'm looking for...
I'm looking for a gal like me. One who is happy with herself. I guess I'm heartless but at this time of my life I don't want to take on a lot of baggage. Really. I've devoted a lot of effort into building the life I have. My efforts now are to find someone to share it with.
If you smoke you needn't apply. Ugh. I suppose it's shallow but Im not crazy about 'big' gals. (Should a sloped shouldered, balding old man say such a thing?). Please have several pictures in your profile. :)
If you have your own friends, interests and can get out of town occasionally then I hope to hear from you! If you pay your bills and your car runs well, perfect. It's a real bonus if you like ODU football!
I'd just like to add...
I have a tremendous group of friends. Love 'em all. I ski, love live theater, have tickets to ODU football and basketball. I'd travel more if I had someone fun to do it with.
During May and June I had to replace both my washer and dryer. Also my receiver, television and oven. I also had to replace a headlight in my car. Doesn't sound like much but the bulb cost ninety-nine dollars and change. Really. AND, in the online instructions for changing that headlight the first step reads, "remove the front bumper."! THAT was an interesting evolution,
Something I never ever thought I'd say.... I love my new washer. (I'm so embarrassed.)
