A little about me...
Enjoy semi-rural living, nature, gardening, science, art films, photography, walks and easy hikes. Some travel. Have most of the boyscoutly virtues, and as few as possible of the republican ones. Progressive, liberal, humanist, (atheist) and very concerned (to skeptical) about sustainability of the world as we know it. Would rather picnic or walk a nearly deserted beach, than go to a cocktail party. Mountains are cool too. I admire G B Swaw, Gore Vidal, George Carlin, Samuel Clemens -- 'cause we think a bit alike.

About the one I'm looking for...
Professional / well-educated, in good health, mostly manageable baggage, self-sufficient, not religious, liberal or very liberal. My idea is to reign in social Darwinism, and to promote "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness." It might be helpful if the government weren't so corrupt. Would be nice to share interests in nature and science, quiet times and the beauty of the natural world.

I'd just like to add...
Sometimes the glass is half full, sometimes it's not (and it may have a leak). If I vote for Obama again, it will be the least enthusiastic vote of my life. (I did and I have to fall back on thinking that all the Republicans are worse. I'd emigrate, if I could find a civilized alternative. Please look at a site under the category org, called commondreams-- it would be important that you "get it". I am looking to grow into a healthy lasting relationship with a smart successful woman who is strong on common sense. (I do like most dogs and cats, but no pets now.) Life would seem to entail finding a balance between reality and delusions and between giving and taking. I don't fall on the republican side of the equation. If our government consists of corrupt democrats and sociopathic republicans -- as someone said, we're in for a hell of a ride. More so probably, because of peak oil. And for Christ sake, Jesus was a radical and a liberal; and well, we'd probably not nail him to a cross, if he came back. So this is progress? ;-)
