A little about me...
I have BSc and MSc degrees in geology and for the past 36 years have enjoyed a very rewarding career in hydrogeology. I retired on April 30, 2013 and am free to roam! I believe a key to happiness is to lead a balanced life. I enjoy many activities and am an expert at none. I prefer small intimate entertainment venues where I can dance and converse with my partner to a Norah Jones like band. Loud, chaotic settings are not my cup of tea! I can be spontaneous if the moment strikes me. I have been known to pull off to the side of a country road and dance with my partner if the music strikes a nerve.. I would hope this would not embarrass you! I' not afraid to be the first couple on the dance-floor either!
I believe it is important to be at ease and comfortable with yourself...I can only augment your happiness...I cannot be the "White Knight"! and you should not be Florence Nightingale!
During winter evenings a warm fire and a good book are a desirable combination. I read a lot...mostly 20th century history.
Politically, I am a social moderate, a fiscal conservative (I do not wish to mortgage our children's future) and a non- military interventionist unless our national security is truly at risk.
About the one I'm looking for...
I'm looking for a warm, kind, gentle, affectionate lady who can be spontaneous, adventurous and is well read, one who is comfortable in jeans or an evening dress whatever the occasion calls. My desire is to find a true companion to SHARE life experiences. Now that I have retired, a good travel partner would be great! I have a desire to see more of our country. I would really like to visit Ireland the land of some of my ancestors and take in some great Irish pubs with some real celtic folk music. New Zealand and Australia are also high on my travel list!
I'd just like to add...
